It is important to know that while we are partners with the national umbrella organization, Habitat for Humanity International, they do not fund us. Our funding is provided by dedicated local corporate and faith based organizations as well as individual St. Louisians that support our efforts each year. Habitat for Humanity International does, however, administer national corporate and in-kind support partnerships which are shared amongst Habitat affiliates throughout the country.

Additionally, each year, Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis tithes (or donates a modest percentage) funding to support Habitat for Humanity International's Global building program. Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis has tithed over $300,000 to support Global building, which has helped more than 120 families have a place to call home.

Volunteers make it happen
Not only do volunteers help us do our important work on the construction site, they also assist us in the day to day running of our organization. The great work that Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis does is led by 9 functional volunteer committees.

Theses committees consist of volunteers who give their time and specific expertise to help guide the growth and development of the organization. Taken collectively, there is enough expertise to govern a large corporation and we are quite fortunate to have their help and their leadership guiding us into the future. Couple these committees with a dedicated Board of Directors and our committee of Development Council members and you have the recipe for successful leadership. This leadership has helped us maintain a very low operational overhead. Currently, 86¢ from every dollar we receive from our donors goes directly into programs.
