Brad Beggs is one of three principals at Development Strategies and directs the firm's work in market analysis, feasibility studies, and commercial real estate appraisal. He joined the firm in 1991 upon graduating from Washington University with an undergraduate degree in architecture and an MBA. He remains a member of the university's Eliot Society and maintains professional memberships in the Urban Land Institute and the Appraisal Institute, where he holds the designation ‘Member of the Appraisal Institute' (MAI). Brad has been on the board of directors of the local chapter of the Appraisal Institute and currently sits on the executive committee of the St. Louis District Council of ULI as chair of the programs committee.
Brad is a recognized expert in valuation and market analysis and has been called to testify in various matters regarding his opinions in local, state, and federal court cases. He is most widely known for his work with affordable housing-and multifamily housing in general-and has increased Development Strategies' work in this field dramatically. The firm has completed sophisticated market studies and/or appraisals for projects across the United States that involve Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, and Development Strategies is one of the few providers for these services for several major national lenders and equity investors. Brad assisted ULI's Council for Workforce and Affordable Housing with the production of the Ten Principals for Developing Affordable Housing.
He and his wife, Ellen, live in Glendale with their two kids, Luke and Lydia.
