Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis is excited to be building in three neighborhoods in 2011.
JeffVanderLou
Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis is building seven more homes in the JeffVanderLou neighborhood in 2011. These homes will be in the same area as the 2008-2010 homes. When complete, Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis will have built 64 homes in a five block area. These homes were all built to LEED for Homes Platinum standards; 51 are certified at the LEED Platinum level and the remaining 13 homes are pending certification.
Old North St. Louis
Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis is very happy to be returning to the Old North St. Louis neighborhood in 2011. The site is be located on the 1200-1300 blocks of Clinton and the 2100 block of N. 13th. After two community meetings held in December 2010 and January 2011, Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis finalized the house design. The house designs and site plan are on display at the Old North St. Louis Restoration Group office (2700 N. 14th Street, St. Louis, Missouri 63106).
This portion of the 2011 build will consist of 12 homes, seven two-story models and five one-story models. A perspective of the development is below.

Carondelet
Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis is building in a new community in 2011, Carondelet. Five homes will be built at 1018-1032 Bates. Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis has worked with the Carondelet Housing Corporation, Woodward Now representatives, Alderman Villa, and the Community Development Administration (CDA) to create a streetscape and home design for 1018-1032 Bates Street that will complement the existing homes in the Carondelet community.
The Bates property (1018-1032 Bates Street) is within the Grand Bates Suburb Historic District listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Based on governing federal regulations, three layers of design approval must be received before construction can commence. The Community Development Administration, Cultural Resources Office, and Missouri State Historic Preservation Office all have to approve the house design.
Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis has broken ground in Carondelet and will work to get subfloors installed in Carondelet before the end of 2011. After a little break in the winter, we will be back working on the homes in Carondelet in the spring of 2012.
