Chapter 29: Concrete

1. Introduction

On most Habitat projects the exterior concrete work is done entirely by a subcontractor. Sometimes the sidewalks and parking pad (flatwork) are done by HFHSL. The local municipality is responsible for the curb and public sidewalk. The site supervisor will schedule the subcontractors, so it is a good idea to inform them when the house is ready for these phases.

2. Prior tasks to have been completed before Concrete

• Rough grade established in areas where flatwork and steps will go.
