If you have taken construction leadership classes at Forest Park and want to get hands on experience to apply your knowledge, you are in the right place.

As Crew Leader Trainees/Forest Park Class Participants, you should arrive to the build site no later than 7am. Sign in at the site support trailer and then go to the morning construction leadership meeting (at 7am) with Habitat Construction Staff, house leaders, crew leaders, crew leader trainees, task leaders, and site safety observers. During this time, the phase Project Manager will outline the assigned tasks for the day, inform leaders where the necessary materials are located, and answer questions from the house leaders. Immediately following, most house leaders will have a meeting with the crew leaders, crew leader trainees, site safety observers, and field day participants assigned to them.

There are two options for scheduling Forest Park Class Participants. One, the majority of you are all assigned to the same house during the regular build season. This will allow you the opportunity to work and learn together. The second option is to spread you throughout the build site on several homes. We ask that you be flexible when you arrive on site which will help us ensure we provide the best possible volunteer experience. The options will vary from phase to phase.

The field days are open to anyone who has previously taken courses, is currently enrolled in courses, or plans to enroll in courses at Forest Park. The Phase 1 dates below are the first available opportunity to complete a field day. More dates will be available throughout the year.

NOTE: To sign up for a field day, email constructionleaders@habitatstl.org. Be sure to include your first and last name, email address, phone number, and date you would like to come.

Our Volunteer Services Department will respond to your email and let you know if you are scheduled. Please be sure to get a crew leader trainee passport booklet during one of your classes. If you forget, please ask for one at sign-in on your build day. Please note, it is your responsibility to keep up with the days you have volunteered on site and the tasks you have completed. After you have completed a field day you will be given a crew leader trainee t-shirt and hardhat. You can send your request for a size to constructionleaders@habitatstl.org or ask for one at sign-in.
