Construction Volunteer Wish List
As we continue to build more and more homes each year our volunteer needs increase and change. We have created a "wish list" of volunteer roles. Read below to see if you are interested...
Tool Trailer Manager is responsible for keeping tools and materials organized and maintained in container/trailer for a particular house. Tools are numbered and each trailer is responsible for keeping their own tools and materials in their container/trailer. Send a volunteer to HFHSL staff if you have exhausted all places in your container to look for an item. Do not try and find it in another homes container. They also help with the unloading of materials.
Construction Yard Manager is responsible for the organizing and distribution of tools and materials through-out the entire build site. Volunteers would work on build days (i.e. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) distributing various specialized tools thru-out the site. At the end of the day they would ensure all tools have been returned and would be responsible for testing tools to ensure they work properly, and notifing HFHSL staff when they do not.
Elf Crew consist of volunteers who work during a blitz, starting at 3:30pm to help HFHSL Project Managers set-up and prepare for the following day.
Crane/Roofing Crew would start work at noon during a blitz and help the Construction Manager and Project Manager set trusses on the first or second day of each blitz.
If you are questions or are interested in volunteering for any of the aboved jobs, please email builddays@habitatstl.org for more information.
