Habitat for Humanity St. Louis 10th Annual Golf Tournament
Glen Echo Country Club
May 12th was a great day for golf! We had gorgeous weather for this year's outstanding Golf Tournament at Glen Echo Country Club, where we raised the bar once again, bringing in over $70,000! For 10 years Glen Echo has been home to our popular tournament, with ever-increasing attendance. The facilities are magnificent and the event was a pleasure due to the efforts of Tim Dulle and his staff, along with our Special Events Committee. However, the event's success resulted in the facility "bursting at the seams" and pushed the Golf Committee to decide, with mixed emotions, that it is time for a change.
Next year, Habitat will have the honor of being among the first to take advantage of all 27 holes of the new Forest Park Golf Course! Over $94 million has been invested in the renovation of Forest Park, now recharged with the excitement of the centennial celebration of the 1904 World's Fair. The public course and magnificent new clubhouse promise to be an exciting new venue for next year and many to come, so be sure and mark your calendars for Friday, May 14, 2004! Thanks to our golf chair Mike Stokes for his continued support and dedication to this event.
Randy Karraker, KTRS Radio, once again did an outstanding job of auctioneering! |
Thanks again to all of our participants, sponsors, auction donors and dedicated Special Events volunteers for making it all possible. A very special thank you to our most dedicated golf committee chair person, Mike Stokes, for all of his efforts to make this event a continued success!
