The Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis ReStore is thankful for our many individual and corporate donors because without them, we wouldn't have much of a store!
We Accept
We accept donations of new and reusable building materials and home remodeling supplies. In general, we accept items that are in good, working condition that our customers might be interested in giving a new home. Due to legal restrictions, safety concerns, and space constraints, we are unable to accept some items even if they are in good condition. This list includes hazardous or broken materials, some furniture, hollow-core doors, shower doors, vanity tops (without the cabinet), less-than-full cans of paint, wooden window sashes, and appliances older than 10 years. Drop Off
We accept donations dropped off at our store Monday-Sunday from 10am-4pm. We will usually be able to give you a hand unloading, but please bring your own help if you're in a hurry. We will provide a receipt for your donated items. Feel free to bring a written list of your items if you would like specific information for your records.
Pick Up
If you are unable to transport a large donation, we offer a pick-up service in St. Louis City and County. This type of donation includes cabinet sets, appliances, tubs, and large doors and windows. To check if your donation qualifies for this service, call us at 314-531-4155x568 or email Matt Hardy at matt@habitatstl.org. Our pick-up service is free of charge, but we do ask for your patience. It usually takes about two weeks for us to pick up your items. We are unable to schedule specific dates for pick-ups; however, we call our donors the day before we are planning to be in their area. We are able to pick up items from the front of the house or an accessible garage. We are unable to enter the house for any reason.
Please note that we reserve the right to refuse any items that do not meet our current donation guidelines. If you have any questions about making a donation, stop by or give us a call!
Valuing your donation
The ReStore is unable to provide a monetary value for your in-kind donation. We will, however, list the items on your donation receipt as specifically as you would like for your records. Please consult with your tax preparer, especially for donations of high value. Consider preparing an itemized list, taking pictures of your items, and/or having your items appraised prior to donation.
