Are my donations tax deductible?

Yes, donations made to the ReStore are tax deductible. Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis is a charitable organization under tax code 501(c)(3). At the time of donation, the ReStore staff will provide you with a Receipt for Donated Goods that can be used for tax purposes. The form also indicates that Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis did not provide any goods and/or services in exchange for the contribution.

Where does the ReStore's revenue go?

100% of the ReStore's profit is financial support for Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis.

How do I schedule a pick up?

If you are interested in donation and require a pick up, we ask that you call us at 314-531-4155 to speak with a staff member or email Matt Hardy at matt@habitatstl.org with a description of the materials you have, your pickup address and contact phone number.

How often do you receive new inventory?

We receive new inventory every day. It is very rare that we know what we are getting in ahead of time. If there is something you are looking for, keep checking back with us. We recommend that you stop by once a week to see how quickly our inventory can turn over. What is here today will probably be gone by tomorrow!

Why didn't the ReStore accept my donation?

In some cases, the ReStore may find itself overwhelmed with a particular item. If we run out of storage space or fear that incoming donations may be damaged because of a lack of proper space, we may refuse your item. In addition, if your donation does not meet our guidelines, we are unable to accept it. At the time of donation, please ensure the item is clean, free of nails, with all parts connected and does not contain or carry any hazard materials.
