rect_on.gif: On Myron G. - A True Story

Myron G.:

Another Ville neighbor and HFH homeowner, Myron G. has embraced the neighborhood and dedicated himself to improving the community. He moved his family to the area in 1994, in the middle of a transition period when families were few and transients congested the ward. He and his wife, Christobis, successfully raised their three children, all of whom are now working toward being productive community members and professionals.

Being an intricate component of Human Development Corporation of Metropolitan St. Louis (HDC), Myron had first-hand knowledge of reclaiming and redeveloping communities. Through 24 years of training and experiences with HDC, holding positions from Youth Development Specialist, and Community Activist Manager, to Community Resource and Development Project Director, Myron has become a building block for community enhancement.

Myron designed and governs Project Mainstay, a citywide collaboration partnering to dissolve service gaps for low-income families in both Metropolitan St. Louis and Wellston County. As a direct result of Myron's exceptional work ethic and continuous dedication, target families have received benefits such as Resource Fairs, Federation Block Unit partnerships, 40 sponsored Herbert Hoover Boys Club memberships, and a complimentary 150-page resource guide of local agencies offering wrap-around services. Myron also serves as the minister of music for his church, Lively Stone Church of God, and works with several other youth-oriented projects in the community.
