Organizations may wish to send groups of volunteers to assist Habitat, and we welcome that help. At the same time, your organization and Habitat need a clear understanding of how the process works and what is expected. - Groups are considered 10-15 volunteers, age 16 years or older. If a group of volunteers are ages 16-18 years old, they will need 1 adult (age 21 years or older) for every 4-5 youths.
- Group Information that we provide to you includes a letter to the Group Leader, Group Worksheet Instructions, and a sign-up Group Worksheet. To schedule a date the Group Worksheet must be returned to Habitat; a confirmation letter will be emailed or mailed with your scheduled date and other pertinent information.
- We have waived the mandatory $5 per person volunteer fee, due some internal structural changes in our program making the collection of these funds difficult to track and manage. This fee was used to support the needs of our volunteer program such as insurance needs, tools and supplies. Although it is no longer mandatory, a donation to Habitat for group participation is highly encouraged. Any financial support that is given to us will continue to support our volunteer program, and also help us in our mission to eliminate substandard housing in the St. Louis area. Feel free to give as your heart guides you; however an average of $5 per person or more is recommended.
- Each volunteer must sign the Waiver of Liability each year before working on our build site, agreeing to take personal responsibility for any accidents or injuries on the build site. You and your group's personal health insurance plan should cover the individual while engaged in volunteer work; however, each volunteer should verify that he or she has this type of coverage prior to signing the Release form. Youth 16 years and over must have a parent's signature unless they are over 18. No one under 16 is allowed on the construction site!

| Please see the Group Worksheets for available sign-up dates. Typically groups can sign up for a Monday, Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday, outside of our regular build schedule. Groups are expected to arrive no later then 7:50AM and work until 4PM. If another week day is requested or you have a group larger then 15 volunteers, Construction Staff approval is necessary well in advance. At times, Habitat can accommodate special requests. Click "Group Special Request" to download a worksheet and instructions. For a clearer understanding of what is involved in our group scheduling process, please read the "2008 Group Leader Letter” that is sent to organizations wishing to take part in the 2008 build, and return the "2008 Group Worksheet ". Phase 1, 2 & 3 Group Worksheets posted, along with Pre-Build Saturday's and Weekday Opportunites! IMPORTANT NOTE: We attempt to schedule all volunteer groups based on our current need.Your request for a build day does not guarantee you that opportunity.Groups when possible will be granted one build day, but due to the large number of requesting groups and individuals we are not typically able to give groups multiple build days.If you are interested in multiple build days each year, please let us know and we can talk with you about our sponsorship opportunities.
