Habitat Committees typically meet on weeknights @ our Administrative Office (3763 Forest Park Ave, 63108); but check with the committee to be certain! Construction, Finance, Law, and ReStore Committees need volunteers with relevant experience.

For every hour a volunteer spends on site, there are approximately ten hours spent behind the scenes, volunteering in the office, ReStore, on committees and at Special Events.

Construction Committee*
The Construction Committee is involved in all aspects of the construction process including plan design and development, cost estimates, acquiring permits, bid process, materials acquisition and storage, and house construction. Committee is also responsible for punch list projects, tool procurement, project management and overseeing our green building program. Committee typically meets once a month on the 2nd Monday @ 5:15PM.
Family Selection Committee
A Family Selection member is a compassionate, caring, organized volunteer, who can do paperwork, is detail oriented, and is good at information evaluation. This volunteer also must have people skills and enjoy interaction with applicants. Duties may include file upkeep, planning, and executing workshops for applicants, reviewing applications, preparing summaries of information on applicants, scheduling and performing home visits, and various other related duties. Time commitment is as little as four to five hours per month. Committee meets once a month on the 3rd Tuesday @ 6PM.
Family Support Committee
Works with the Habitat Family Support & Selection Manager and the homebuyer families prior to, during, and after the build. Committee members help provide guidance and encouragement to the families so that they fulfill their obligations of becoming successful homebuyers. Committee members continue to work with families after closing to ensure that they adjust to homeownership and are productive, well-rounded community members. Committee meets once a month on the 4th Thursday @ 6PM.
Leading Edge Committee
Leading Edge is responsible for the recruitment, training, retaining & support of House, Crew, & Task Leaders & Site Safety Observers before, during and after the build. It provides continued construction education and social opportunities. Visit the Leading Edge Committee page to learn more. Committee meets once a month on the 1st Thursday @ 5:30PM.
ReStore Committee*
Committee volunteers would represent the ReStore at environmental fairs and festivals around the metro area and help develop Marketing Strategies for the ReStore. Interested volunteers should possess some retail experience and/or background. Committee meets once a month on the 3rd Tuesday @ Noon.
Safety Committee
Committee volunteers continue to refine the process used to raise the awareness of the people on the build site about safe work practices and reducing risk on the build site and in the ReStore. Meetings dates and times will be determined by participants. Visit the Safety Committee page to learn more.
Special Events Committee
Volunteers on this committee coordinate some of the events in which Habitat participates. This committee participates in planning, mailings, soliciting gift/auction donations, decorating, and volunteering during the event. Committee meets once a month on the 1st Wednesday @ 5:30PM. Women Build
This committee provides an opportunity for women to work together to learn new skills and make new friends while building a home with a family in need. Visit the Women Build page for more information.
Young Friends
Young Friends of Habitat is a group that engages young adults (ages 21-40) in the work of Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis. Young Friends members get together for networking and happy hours, have build days on the HFHSL construction sites, and host other fun events. This is a group of people who are looking to get involved in their community, have some fun and make new friends all at the same time.
