or those who want in on the action at the Build Site, but not in actual construction...think about volunteering as an On-Site Administrator, Nurse / EMT Personnel, or Photographer today!
To volunteer for a non-construction opportunity, please sign up to attend Volunteer Orientation first. At volunteer orientation you can sign up to volunteer for each of these roles.

We have listed these opportunities according to our greatest needs!
On-Site Administrator
The On-Site Administrator works at the build site to greet, register, and direct volunteers and/or traffic. May also set up tables, and shade canopies, deliver ice & water, and run errands. Hours typically are during blitzes or Saturdays from 7am - 8:30am on site.
Photographers
Photographers are needed to help capture build activity as it happens, as well as cover some of our special events. This is a wonderful opportunity for a photography student looking to build his or her portfolio, or for experienced photographers who are willing to share their time and talents. Schedule and specific assignments will be worked out on a case-by-case basis. If interested, please send samples of your work via email to anna@habitatstl.org.
Gardeners
Volunteers are needed to assist with Community Gardens in multiple Habitat neighborhoods to provide gardening knowledge and organize tool usage.
Garden Tool Project
There is an ongoing need to help coordinate efforts in our Community Gardens. This includes coordinating use of yard and garden tools in the shared garden shed in the community garden as well as overall gardening work of the family beds in the community gardens. Volunteer may oversee volunteer helpers as needed. Time commitment is typically during the gardening season. Hours are flexible depending upon your availability.
Office Angels (Data Entry, General Office & Orientation)
Data entry will take place in our administrative office on an as needed basis. General office volunteers assist staff with various tasks, mailings, and other projects as needed. Typically, volunteer times are during business hours. You will be notified via email when projects/tasks become available.
Help is also needed for our monthly Orientations. Duties would include set up, register, put out refreshments and parking signs and light clean up. Hours for a Wednesday Orientations are 5 - 8 pm, and Saturday Orientations are 8 - 11 am.
First Aid / Nurses / EMT Personnel
Nurses and EMT personnel are needed to provide First Aid and direction on how to handle a medical situation if necessary, throughout the build site to anyone in need AND of course, if you like, you are welcome to join in and work on the site. Please let Site Support know when you are volunteering on the build site. Volunteers are needed during blitz weeks and on Saturdays throughout the build season.
