Women Build is a special committee which supports the efforts of Habitat for Humanity to eliminate substandard housing. It is a true empowerment program which reaches across boundaries of gender, race, and class.
The worldwide emphasis of Women Build is to concentrate the talents and resources of women who want to contribute to a meaningful change in their community. In this program women provide the funding and volunteer labor for an entire house build—from raising the first wall to landscaping.
Since 1996, Women Build St. Louis has been the proud partners of 15 homes with Habitat for Humanity St. Louis.
Women Build St. Louis, the longest-running Women Build group in the U.S., is vibrant and growing. We invite you to explore the available links to learn more about us.
St. Louis Women Build Committee welcomes all skills and talents. The committee meets the fourth Thursday of every month at our Forest Park Avenue location.
We are particularly interested in finding women with construction skills who might even be available for co-leadership roles. You will help coordinate and facilitate Build Days and free building clinics throughout the year.
Sub-committee meetings are scheduled as needed in areas of Communications, Events/Fundraising, Volunteer/Membership, and Construction.
You are invited to attend our committee meetings or contact Amy Determan, Community Engagement Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
