Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis is committed to eliminating substandard housing by providing minor home repair services to low and moderate-income homeowners. With a focus on making homes accessible and energy efficient, the Habitat Saint Louis Home Repair Program tackles repairs for qualified homeowners living in the City of St. Louis.

Habitat Minor Home Repair Program

What is Habitat minor Home Repair?

Launched in 2022 in partnership with the City of Saint Louis, the Habitat Minor Home Repair Program promotes dignity and independence for low-income homeowners by addressing critical health and safety needs within their homes. The goal: to serve up to 150 households in year one, making repairs that allow our neighbors to live safely in their homes for years to come.

What are the qualifications?

Once you submit your application, a member of our staff will determine your eligibility.

The basic qualifying criteria include:

  1. Income: You must have an income that falls below 300% of the Federal Poverty Line, based on the number of members in your household, as outlined in this chart:
  2. Ownership: Applicant must be living in the home that requires home repair services. The home must be located within the City of St. Louis. Homeowners must be able to show they are current on property taxes, insurance, and mortgage.
  3.  Repair Needs: Applicant/homeowner must demonstrate minor home repair needs that are critical to maintaining safe, energy-efficient, and/or accessible housing.
    Note: major repairs (i.e., collapsed sewer drain, window replacement, hot water heater / HVAC replacement, etc.) are not within the scope of this program.
