Brittany McCoo (she/her) is a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Practitioner, Educator, and Advocate who identifies as a biracial, low-income, first-generation college graduate. Brittany has extensive experience in higher education, specializing in student engagement, belonging, and restorative practices to foster inclusive communities. With a passion for creating safe and equitable spaces (including housing and community resources), she has led efforts in strategic program development, mentorship, and advocacy for marginalized populations. Brittany is the inaugural Director for Student Engagement & Belonging at Maryville University, overseeing initiatives that promote inclusion, connection, and student success. A professional who aspires for liberation, she dreams of integrating these principles into every aspect of life. Brittany’s commitment to equity is guided by her personal experiences and her core belief in empowering others through intentional leadership and collaboration.
