We at Habitat Saint Louis are calling upon our community for an urgent request.
In order to better serve our homebuyers and build stronger communities, we are asking the State of Missouri to reallocate a $250k appropriation our organization has received and enthusiastically utilized since FY2021.
This $250k appropriation that we have received since FY2021 ($500k one year!) was initially in the State of Missouri budget under the General Revenue Department of Social Services. This funding’s removal has been requested, but its restoration will go a long way, making a greater impact in our work to support affordable housing in the St. Louis community.
With the State’s renewal of our $250k appropriation, Habitat Saint Louis will continue to serve families in need of decent affordable housing, especially following the devastating tornado last year. Your support helps us build on our success, further ensuring that homeownership opportunities continue for the people we serve. The consultants that we work with have shared that as few as 5 letters/phone calls can make a big difference!
To help with your outreach, we have created an e-mail script and a phone script linked below to guide your message to our State government. We have also listed the contact information of the four individuals who can help return the $250k appropriation that we have received since FY2021 back in the budget: the Governor, two Representatives and one Senator. Every call makes a difference.

Your support does not go unnoticed. Habitat for Humanity Saint Louis is extremely grateful for the warmth and passion from our community in regard to the work we do. We are honored to serve the people of St. Louis, and we thank you immensely for supporting this request.
